If this is indeed true (albeit very old news), I'll be totally crushed that my MMA superhero of all these years really did this. Although superhero makes a good point--if he had done steroids he would be a bulging 200lbs from his original 170-ish weight that he was at for most of his career. Yes, going from 178 to 180 lbs is a great indication of one taking steroids. Who comes up with this crap?!? Steroids or not, trust me Royce Gracie will always be my ultimate MMA superhero!

Got my unexpected (well expected XD) gift in the mail today. It's my diary from my friend in Korea, YJ. I absolutely love it!!! :-D I swear though I'd never seen so many damn stickers in my life XD The thing came with a gazillion sheets of it and each sheet had a bazillion stickers. Anyway, here's hoping that I get my forgetful self organized... Finally... Hopefully... Where's Terra to be my walking organizer??? :-p

Spent today with Terra devilxangel dongsaeng whom I've missed so much! We were only gonna grab a bite to eat and go to Waji to buy me my long-dreamt for frozen takoyaki. Who would've thought we'd end up taking a Microsoft road-trip? Sorry dongsaeng, it was fun and all, but I don't yearn to do that anytime soon. Give me about a year or so to recover from the trauma that brought us... LOL Call me later and we'll do some scheming for that BB thing?

Anyway, after that Jeannette grabbed me for my grand birthday dinner at my favorite Korean BBQ joint. Boy the owner was happy to see us both there again. The last time I went to the place the owner was looking for her, so yeah. XD In the middle of dinner we just spazzed over all the older pop songs we were so obsessed with back in the day. All thanks to Madonna. -____-" The ride home became an impromptu noraebang session in the car. And oh my goodness, I finally heard Jeannette sing after knowing her for 8 freaking years of my life! Never thought I'd live to see the day! Good to relive the good old days of true pop music!

Thanks to all of my birthday wishes yesterday and today. I'm now 23 and old XD

Forsberg rules out NHL comeback this season

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Peter Forsberg has ruled out a return to the National Hockey League this season.

Forsberg told Sweden's national broadcaster SVT on Friday that if he's able to play at all, it will be for his hometown club Modo in the Swedish league. "There won't be any NHL this season, that's totally clear," Forsberg told SVT. "If I can play it will be in the (Swedish) Elite Series and Modo."

The injury-plagued forward has been back on the ice in recent weeks to test his ailing right foot.

Forsberg, 35, made a late-season return to the Colorado Avalanche last year, but injuries kept him out of half of team's final 18 regular season games and three of the four games in the second round of the playoffs.

SVT reported that Forsberg had also declined a spot on Sweden's national team for the LG Hockey Games tournament Feb. 5-8.

"I will be training with Modo during the national team break and I hope to make a decision after that," Forsberg said. "Modo understands that I'm still not sure I can play, but the foot feels better today than it did at the start of the week."

In addition to winning two Stanley Cups with the Avalanche, he won the NHL's MVP award in 2003 after scoring 29 goals and adding 77 assists.

He's still way too young to be forced to retire. Though I know of others who have done so--this cannot happen to THE Peter Forsberg. But he did say even though there's no NHL hockey this year that he'd still be on the ice. That folks tells us two things. ONE : He's not quite thinking retirement yet and TWO : for you lucky ones out there you'll get to see Peter the Great on the ice this winter. Lucky mofos!

Too fcuking creepy... On April of 2007, supposedly you left for Shanghai. I even said goodbye to you via my LJ here. Now a little over a year later, you show up? Why? Why now that I've been perfectly fine knowing you and I will never be more than what we were. Didn't hear a word from you when you left and I haven't heard a word from you since you've been back. We've seen each other and looked at one another eye to eye, but what are both of us scared to go up to each other?

Truthfully, I'm not interested... Just feels like a ghost from my past is coming back to haunt me...

Today was the day of the Se7en fansign @ Verizon Wireless in Federal Way. It was freezing cold (since it had snowed the night before, and snow loomed while we were there). We got there right before noon--much thanks to the nice sheet of ice that got me stuck down the street from my friend's house. Kube93, which is a prominent hip-hop radio station in the Seattle area. Their street crew started passing out Verizon phone socks and lanyards and then played a few small games with the folks in line. Closer to when Se7en arrived they started playing some of his Korean and Japanese songs. Very few songs though, and it repeated a few times while we were still in line.

Se7en arrived close to 1:30 pm (30 mins ahead of schedule). He arrived in a white stretch Escalade limo accompanied by some Whisper Entertainment people (I assume) and Jinu. Everyone just went nuts when he started ducking out of the limo, so he stood up for a few seconds, gave a pose to give everyone a chance to take a pic. He was then whisked away inside along with the entourage. Shortly after, he came back outside with a mic and started talking to everyone in line. He basically thanked us for braving the cold to attend the fansign and also for the support we've given him, then he said if we could wait only a couple of seconds more he'll see us soon inside. Then the security started to let the Verizon VIPs in a few small groups at a time.

My turn came after one of my friends, and Se7en looked up at me and smiled, so I walked over. He held up his hand to shake mines and he said, "Hello. What's your name?" I replied back with a "Hi, my name is Rovila." At the same time I handed over my post-it note with my name written on it. (He wrote our names on the posters, and so the radio station people had handed us postit notes earlier while we were in line to ensure that Se7en spelled our names correctly.) As he was signing my poster, he was thanking me for the support (I think this must've been a common content of each conversation at the event). My mind had already blanked out the moment he got there, so I was kind of blocked for conversation material. I just kinda stared at him with this goofy smile on my face. So, when my friend handed this Verizon employee her camera to get my pic taken with Se7en, he realized it before I did. XD Got the pic taken and then he handed me my signed poster and shook my hand again. I told him good luck as he was shaking my hand that 2nd time and he smiled again and said thank you.

All in all, I was totally impressed about how the whole event was handled. I've heard "horror" stories of how they rush through everyone in line and everything, so I was a bit apprehensive about this one. But I'm glad that they took their time (granted they also started half an hour earlier than scheduled too). Se7en was totally awesome (not to mention truly drop dead gorgeous!). He gave a totally humble vibe and that he was totally polite. He spoke very softly and wasn't trying to rush onto the next person to get the fansign over as fast as possible. I seriously cannot wait for that single to drop--which better be soon, my poster says January 2009

R.I.P. Steven Jackson 1989-2008

Stevie left us this morning. All the "preparation" that all of us went through in helping us accept his fate, didn't ease the pain from when the message arrived. I'd never felt such an intense pain ever before. I guess it must've been the realization that he's really gone. But I look at it this way... Though he was taken so abruptly, I find peace of mind knowing that he's up there where no one can ever hurt him again. He's in the company of angels, himself in the process of becoming one.

Not realizing how badly this would affect me, I really appreciate those who have been helping me go through this process of grieving and putting myself back together. Linda and Barb for being the first two pairs of arms to comfort me when I came face-to-face with the fact that Steve had passed on. Thank you for being there to listen since the beginning. To Lils and Hannah -- though both of you might be really far away, giving me a chance to talk about my fears and feelings has helped ease the pain I've been carrying since the moment Steve was sent to the hospital fighting for his life. Hannah you're right, I must complete my process of grieving and healing entirely.

Suze -- my B2. Thank you for understanding and lending me that shoulder even if you're thousands of miles away. As we're both big sisters to younger brothers, I think we both found it easy to put ourselves in Shauna's shoes and just feel the heartache over what happened. For listening and support, thank you.

To Shauna and her family--No one can ever imagine the pain and devastation you're family is going through. To lose someone in such a senseless manner is something that good people should never have to go through. Yet time and again, it seems like that's what happens. The amount of support or love that I can give you can't fill that void in your life, but I want to let you guys know how much I love you all. Having been around your family all these years have made you guys an extended family to me. So in this time of mourning, I'm behind you guys all the way. There's always sunny days ahead. Stay strong and I love all of you dearly.

Steve, I know you're in heaven smiling down on us with that big ol' smile of yours. Keep watching over us and we'll keep you in o ur hearts forever. Taking a line from your big sis Shauna -- you're gone but never forgotten.

Dear Stevie,
I've known you ever since you were about 9 years old and all this time I have gotten to know you as a good kid, brother, and son. Most of all, I got to know you enough to consider you like another little brother. That's why I'm still in disbelief that you're leaving us so soon. What hurts most of all is the fact that you were taken from us because of two boys who made a momentary bad decision that caused us to lose you. It's not fair and it will never be fair. You were taken before the world saw your full potential, your life hasn't even started yet. It's not fair to your family to lose you before they can fully show you how they truly love you. Sure, those guys would probably be punished and just rightfully so--it's unjust to take another's life. But no matter what happens to those two, they can never bring you back. I'm gonna miss your infectious smile--by the way do you know that you and big sis Shauna smile alike? Who's gonna adore my lumpia now? As sad as I am with you leaving, I'm happy about the fact that you're going home. When you arrive at the gates of heaven, the Heavenly Father will be the first you see along with Unkie and your grandma. You'll be in great company and you'll never be in pain or be around shady people ever again. As much as it hurts to say, goodbye Stevie. At least for now, we'll all meet up there one day.

On my way out of the office yesterday, I noticed this as I was getting into my car... My worldsmostamazing camera phone couldn't capture the entirety of it, but there's actually another rainbow right above the one shown, but it was somewhat faint. The touching moment was the fact that the rainbow was right over our office building (that teeny gray box looking thing is one corner of the 2nd floor of our office). I guess these past few weeks have been depressing, especially hearing all the bleak news with the economy and such that this sight just reminded me that there's always the light at the end of the tunnel--and the rainbow after the rain...

To make it even more interesting, I swear that the end of the rainbow was situated on the north side of our parking lot. No sign of the pot of gold or the leprechaun who guards that pot of gold though...

A marriage anyone wishes for...

Saw this on AF earlier...

Remember the days of old-school kpop and the pop duo Jinusean?

Well, both Jinu and Sean (aka Noh Seung-hwan) have gone their separate ways professionally, but Sean — who has since gotten married and had a couple adorable kiddies — is now again in the public eye by appearing on a variety program with his wife, Jung Hye-young. They’ll appear on the October 8 broadcast of Gold Fish, displaying their couple-y charm and dishing about life before and since marriage (the appearance also marks the couple’s four-year wedding anniversary).

To give you a taste of the aww-inducing sentiments expressed, Sean told of how “The very existence of my wife thrills me.” Jung Hye-young returned the feeling, saying, “My husband has no faults. I don’t see anything wanting in him.” (Are you gagging — out of affection! — yet? No really, it’s sickeningly sweet, but in a happy sort of way.)
Now folks, that's what you call a marriage built to last. Living in a divorce-ready society, reading things like this is very rare. It's amazing to hear that there are marriages (esp. celebrity ones) that are like this. Imagine being married four years later and the two of them still dote on each other.

I guess 'forever' is stil attainable. :-)

(SJ-Happy CD, Stationary from the Busan Aquarium, Yunho 'O' Concert Tshirt, SJ mug, a bunch of cell phone charms [the Hello Kitty ones are from Japan], a little Kangin chime, raccoon ears from Lotte World, stickers with funny "street" signs, toy plastic hammer and socks also from Lotte World) -- Haha the phone is mines already, I just attached the other charms and I didn't feel like taking it off

It was like Christmas in the middle of summer today ^_____^ JT brought back all my goodies (less the SJ-Happy, stickers, Busan Aquarium stationary, which came by mail) from her travels in Korea/Japan this summer. Love my two thoughtful best friends who never forget about meeee :-D

Btw, JT Joey's was awesome! And I love how we still get asked if we're 21 even if we've surpassed that age...

Well I’m definitely glad that Monday is almost over. It’s been fairly busy today, so it’s going by fast. It wasn’t a shopping experience I tell you. I love shopping too, but not like that. I’d rather go to the mall and not end up buying anything than going into every store with a mission. To be honest, I was kinda irritated and I felt bad for Sayaka (the Japanese girl) ‘cos she really didn’t seem to know what was going on. I just hope she got to go into the stores that she liked. OH! And to add to that, I forgot to mention that when we were down at Alderwood, we took Sayaka into the Build-a-bear-workshop right? So one of the kids were getting their bears stuffed, so I pulled her towards the machine… And there was this old lady next to me and I guess she was calling this fat girl over (her daughter?) and she was behind the 3 of us. Stupid girl made a big fuss about how she couldn’t see. Like whatever right, the girl’s like at least six inches taller than JT and I and probably a good 2 or 3 than Sayaka… So she moves like in front of me, and I had to coughchuckle cos in my mind I’m like, “now it’s ME that can’t see!” -________-“ Retards are everywhere I know… What a shame. Plus it was gross, she was like hanging out her clothes. Sorry if I make you chuck out your dinner or whatever meal you might’ve had before reading this. I owe you a meal to replace it when you get back :-p

It sucks you didn’t get to go mountain climbing. If Joy knows that sleeping on whatever side that was hurt the other, then she should’ve been more conscious about how she slept. I know you toss and turn when you sleep, but at least remember that you started off sleeping on the good side. I think you should’ve gone too, I’m sure she’d understand. You don’t always want to spend your weekends cooped up or just stuck downtown. But that is true, there’s absolutely no difference between walking downtown and climbing a mountain. It’s just walking, plus it might be faster climbing up and down a mountain rather than walking around downtown.

Well when you plan to go to Busan or Seoul you gotta definitely let me know, so that I can deposit into your account right away  I’d expect that in smaller towns they’re not that popular, especially if there’s not much teens living there. I did remember one time DBSK (SuJu’s brother band), did this show when they went into the countryside and the folks there had no clue who they were. I’ll keep checking in with Johnson about the COA, I haven’t seen Allan around so he might be off, his days off rotates so it gets real weird. But I’ll fax over the stuff to Clearwire as soon as I get it together.

YES, she did invite me to go. Dude, I wouldn’t even go when she invited me for her (failed) dinner with Karen & Ashley—and I know them! What more some dude I’ve only seen once in my life??? I suppose that’s one thing that’ll never leave her system—hanging out with random people. I thought she had said that Ashley was due in August or whatever… Ah well, I suppose the longer the due date is, the better? LOL It’s quite disappointing for the kids, but I hope they turn their life’s disadvantage and turn it into something good and not repeat what their idiot parents did (or didn’t do) with their lives. And seriously, if I want nothing to do with Ashley or Karen, what makes her think I’d want anything to do with their friends? Common sense anyone? I do feel bad if she goes alone, but the other part of me isn’t sympathetic with her because she brings it onto herself. Like the one time we were at the Korean BBQ, she asked Karen if she wanted to do dinner remember? So if she doesn’t wanna go by herself, then don’t ask… LOL She does tell me the scoop, so I suppose I can’t complain much, it keeps me amused.

I’m glad work was somewhat okay. I don’t get that sticker part though… Why would it matter if Lily does the stickers already? Gee, doesn’t mean the entire world can’t anymore! What weirdos you work with. Well I guess I’ll hold off on the coloring books if the kids don’t deserve it. Do you need anything though? I’ll try to send something off either this week or next week. So you’ve got time  Anyway, I’ll talk to you later...

Well, since it's the weekend, I figured it was pointless to email you here from work. So instead of finding it in your inbox, you find it here. I hope your hell day went ok. I've had to do 10 hour days and trust me; it's not one of my favorite things either. I already go crazy putting in 8 hours, what more another 2??? Especially on Fridays when I'm supposed to be looking forward to the weekend!!! Ah well… So don’t forget that I’ll be calling you later today, hopefully you won’t have to rush off for your Martha Stewart cake decorating class. I’m still amused by the fact that you’re brought on now as a pastry teacher rather than an English teacher… LOL I hope you got a chance to take pics of the kids wearing their hanboks. I did forget to ask, but why did they have to wear hanboks to school? Any occasion? I’m soo gearing up for tomorrow. I gotta prepare my butt for a three hour long couch session, because that’s where I’ll be parked during the Avs-Red Wings game. The Avs lost Game 1, and that scares me. Being the superstitious idiot that I am, the Avs losing game 1 smells like bad luck. You know statistically that more teams who win their first game in a playoff series have a bigger chance of winning the entire series. That’s why I’m getting nervous, they must bounce back and fight ‘til the end. It’d be shameful if this ends soon. Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, and Adam Foote aren’t getting any younger, and I think it’d be nice if these 3 can win one more Cup before retiring. They’re the cornerstone of Colorado’s glory days remember? I haven’t really followed the Eastern conference too much, but I want Montreal to win that conference. And I think they did win their first game.

Not much going on besides that. We can’t really do much out since the weather has been bad, but it seems to have turned out for the better this weekend. Surprise, surprise. So maybe I’ll still go with JT to Tulalip if she ends up taking her student there. If not, I’m staying at home to park myself on the couch. Y’know I had a look at the last batch of pics you sent, and I think that dish your student brought you look like rice cakes (dduk) that has been cooked in sweet red bean paste. Seems like an interesting dessert, but dang dduk is kinda heavy for your tummy. I bought a bag of brown rice dduk from H Mart and I’ve only eaten like half a cup out of like the 2 lb bag XD It’s very filling. But never did I think to make a sweet dish out of it. I made ddukbokggi (I think I butchered the spelling), which is that spicy rice cake I always forget to eat at the restaurant at H Mart. I asked someone how to make it and it was much more easier than I thought, so I just made some at home. Wayyy cheaper that way. I haven’t had a chance to make some lately cos I’ve got no fish cake to put in it, so maybe next weekend. But it’s good stuff.

Anyway, well I suppose you need to watch out for “Booby” season! I’m still trying to comprehend this one to be honest… Before I had actually read your descriptions, I thought it was a clothing thing. So I kinda let it slip by, but after reading that it’s a photo center slogan, I was left speechless. Once you figure out the story behind that, do share right away!!! I’m tempted to put it as my wallpaper for work, but I’m afraid people will take it the wrong way here and not see the humor in it. So I’ve kept my cutie Mikko Koivu wallpaper, which reminds me, now that Minnesota is out of the playoffs I must find a decent Peter Forsberg action shot and use it as my wallpaper. Gotta represent y’know! I had the patbingsoo pic you took for a while, but it kept making me hungry, so I got rid of it XD Anyway, I still must remember to send you the links to where I’ve uploaded the Korean language stuff. I’ll get around to it tonight when I get home. I still need to labor through 2 subbing videos tonight, so that should be fun :-p

I’m doing alright… Headache’s finally gone (seriously after watching my Super Junior videos this morning?) LOL The best medicine—it totally beats taking Advil or whatever! Iono sailor Suze, this thing is just weird… But whatever, at least I got it right? I cannot believe they’re making you come in on a Saturday to make cakes? WTF? Um, at least you’re getting paid for it? Really doesn’t make up for the resting time you lose though. Hopefully they tell you soon what the heck is going for Saturday, so we can make our plans. Weather’s turned out to be much better this week, though it is still fairly cold and breezy, which makes it even more cold. But hey since when did the weather gods give us what we wanted?

Don’t rush the SuJu stuff, especially NOT this weekend (can you even call it that?). I’ll send you mugshots so you can walk around over there asking the ajusshis & ajummas and they’ll mistake that you’re actually looking for the boys. Hey that’s a better souvenir, and I’d say I’d swap SuJu for socks anytime :-p Still waiting on my rice cracker maker btw! I’m tempted to go ask the dude at Ranch who owns one where he got it… Just out of curiosity :-p But his son’s been the one holding down the fort lately, so haven’t really asked. Though the guy must be thinking I’m crazy the many times I order chocolate filled taiyakis. But they’re freakin’ addicting! I should just go invest in my own waffle maker, though it won’t look like cute little fishes.

I don’t know about the poopy business… I suppose it IS healthy since they flush out their system, I’ll just have to verify that with Dr. Johnson one of these days. Well they’re definitely doing fine in that bowl because it’s way more space than they seem to want. Had we gotten them the teeniest bowl, I think they would’ve been much more better since it’s more snuggly. That girl was just so rude though! I just wish JT’s fish would stop fighting mine… LOL I’m gonna have to talk to her about that this weekend if I see her. Such a bully.

Well even if you don’t get paid enough this time to completely pay off the apt this time, just do it in two. I know you just want to get it all done at once, but I suppose doing it 2x isn’t too bad either. At least you’ll know they’re off your case forever. I really wish there was some place in Pullman where you could post something about the place to encourage the others who they’ve done wrong to come forward, and then all together you guys can shut this crazy lady’s place down.

Well, I suppose there’s just not much you can do on a rainy day with hyper kids. I’d have at least thought, they’d let them loose in the gym or cafeteria or whatever the school has. Kids just can’t be cooped up all day! Psh I’m not a kid and I get crazy when I’m all cooped up. But then again we’re all a screw loose anyway. At least if not letting the kids out, make them take naps and quit giving them nasty snacks. That is the last thing they need anyway, since supposedly they like to promote healthy eating at a young age. But I suppose not.

Wrestling has just become one heck of a comical show. You just end up watching it more for the funnies than the “actual competitions.” I love the fake family/paternity dramas, and couples falling apart and junk like that. Cheap laughs, but you know I’ll take mine any way I can. It sucks though cos the real athletes, with real talents (if you could say that) just get overshadowed by the storylines. I’ve only seen mini-Bulldog like once or twice, but it’s cool how the way he wrestles reminds me of his dad. Still no news on FightQuest, I really do hope they’ll bring it back. There are supposed to be new episodes of Bear’s show, but I haven’t seen them yet. Supposedly new Dirty Jobs too, but haven’t seen much either. Just loads of promo teasers about it.
